Southside 7A state track champions

7A State Track Champions
Alex threw shot for the team and came in fourth.  He only threw a couple of times this season for them and got Second in Conference so he got to go to the state meet and be part of the championship team.

Southside boys won the 7A state track meet on  Saturday  in Conway.  It was a lot of fun to watch all the events.   I could not believe how fast some of those kids were in the running events.

Spring football

Austin is a quarterback and is practicing with the receivers.  I did not mind practice to much this week because they were not really hitting the quarterbacks.  He was a little safer.
Alex and Drew will both be seniors next year.  I am already feeling a little sad.
Alex at spring football practice  I need to get some action shots of him.  I had a hard time getting shot indoors last week.  Maybe this will be a better week for outside practice.

Spring football has been underway for a week now.  With Alex and Austin both playing football for Southside next year we have been able to watch both of them practice.   Austin is in the red jersey.  Alex is number 40 in the  white practice jersey.

Southside 7A state championship game

Alex and Austin  listening to Coach Jones after the 7a state championship game.
Austin Nolan and Drew Miller before the Southside-Fayetteville game at Baum Stadium.
Alex at Baum Stadium before the Southside - Fayetteville 7A championship game.
It was a heartbreaker for Southside this weekend.  They lost in the championship game 2-0.  A bad call on a fly ball may have cost them the game.  They had a great year anyway and we are proud of the Southside baseball team.

Alex will be going with the Southside track team to Conway next Saturday to throw shot put in the State Track Meet.  He qualified last week at the conference meet.  It was his first time to throw shot since his ninth grade year.  We are proud of him for making the State playoffs.

Baseball All The Time

Sorry I have not posted in a long time.  We are in full swing with baseball even in cold weather.  We only played two games in our tournament that was suppose to be this weekend before they canceled it.  I was glad they did not play because it was in Bartlesville OK where it is now snowing.

Austin is playing second base more than any other position because he is having some arm issues.  We are doing physical therapy now and hoping that will fix the problem.

Alex plays first base.  Sometimes in the JV games Alex is on first and Austin is on second.  We have a few pictures of them playing at the same time, but they are so far apart that it is hard to see who they are unless you can make the picture bigger.

Baseball...NOT YET FOR AUSTIN

The Ramsey basketball team had a big win last night.  They beat the number one seed out of Northwest Arkansas.  We were the 4 seed.  We will play again Friday night against the winner of the Chaffin/Woodland game.  I was so proud of how the Ramsey boys played.  WAY TO GO RAMS!!!!!

This does mean that Austin will not be playing baseball today, but Alex will.  I may try to get a little video of the baseball game this afternoon..  Lets go Southside!

Basketball ends as baseball begins

Basketball ball season is almost over for Austin.  They made the tournament and will play tomorrow at 5:15.  If they win they will play on Friday.

Baseball is starting on Thursday so Austin will begin baseball as soon as basketball is over.  Alex is already getting ready for the first baseball game.  I hope it starts getting warmer soon.

This is Alex and Drew at their basketball game.  They are having a lot of fun playing boys club basketball this season.  How do you like all the stuff they are wearing?  You should watch them play.  They are not sure if there is any other shot besides the three point shot.
The ice was really pretty last week but sure did cause a lot of problems in NWA.
We had a great time at the superbowl party at the Harris house.  Thanks Harris family.
Even though the Cardinals did not win  we had a lot of food, fun and time with friends.
