The kids are back in school so I decided I would try to get some things on my blog again. I have changed it some, but can not seem to get it the way I want. I will keep trying new things so for a little while it may look different every time you look at it.
Football has started and Southside is 1-1. We go to West Memphis for a game this coming Friday night. Not looking forward to the trip. I will start putting up pictures soon.
We had a very busy summer. Austin played baseball and practiced football. We bought a boat so we spent some time at the lake with friends.
We also enjoyed making some new friends and spending time getting to know them.
We got Alex ready to go to college. I worried a lot more about what was going in his room than he did. He did not feel that it was necessary to get to worked up over all that room stuff.
I will try to be better at blogging during the school year.

Blog design
I need a new blog design any suggestions on who can help or where is a good place to look.
Baseball is our life
Austin and some of his team mates Leonard, Dave, Austin, and Daniel, waiting on a pitcher change. I love seeing them smile during the game and know they are having fun.
Austin plays second base on the Varsity team. This is at a game in Tulsa this past weekend.
We played in a tournament at Jenks and Broken Arrow and won3 out of 4 games.
Alex has had a pulled hamstring and has not been able to play in the last couple of we He did bat a couple of times, but really could not run well.
I think he is about ready for again soon.
Alex was invited to attend a football banquet and awards ceremony this weekend in Little Rock.
The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Inc. puts it together. I am so proud of
him. This is to honor scholar athletes at the high school level. I know it is getting closer to the end of his high school years and I am getting a little more nervous everyday.

Jackson and his snowman
Jackson came over and we made a snowman. We could not get the snow
to stick together so we made a smaller one.

New Year
Well 2010 is hear and I can not believe it. January is full of birthday's and anniversary's. Happy Birthday to my Aunt Tennie. She is such a sweet Aunt and I love her very much. My brother and sister in law, Dean and Monica, both have birthday's this week and they are celebrating an anniversary. They are doing all this celebrating on a cruise. Today would have been my sister in law Susie's birthday. I sure do miss her. She and I shared many special times.
Happy Birthday to all.
Alex and Austin are playing boys club basketball and having a great time. They have started baseball practice each day after school. Baseball starts for them on March 1st. I LOVE BASEBALL. The only thing with high school baseball is that it is usually very cold in the beginning.
The Cardinals will be starting spring training the first of March also. I would love to make a trip back to Jupiter to watch.
Not long before all the stuff for graduation kicks in. Friday May 28th is Southside graduation.

Nolan update
I thought I would do a couple of post in one.
I love Christmas and wanted to share a few pictures of my decorations.
This tree is in my living room. I decided this year to get a
taller, slimmer tree.
This is my mantel in my living room.
This medicine chest was Bennett's dad's medicine case
that he used when he practiced medicine. We have displayed some
of our village in it. I have a lot of village, but really can not find
a good way to display it. This is just a small part of one of my villages.
The tree and chest are in my entry hall.
Well football season is over and it did not end the way we wanted. The boys
had a great season but did not win the championship game. I loved watching
both of them play this year. I will miss Alex not playing next year. A few pictures
from the last game.

Southside pulls out another win.
Two brothers Alex 89 and Austin 9 watching the game and hoping the defense can hold
for us to get a win. Never fear we found a way.
A little coaching to get ready for that last drive down the field.
Southside beat North Little Rock 27-24 with a 2 minute no huddle 93 yard drive.
I was so proud of the boys for never giving up. This is how the playoffs have been for
Southside. We have made a comeback in all three games.

Southside wins Beats Bentonville
Alex and Matt Carman were two of the captains for the Southside Bentonville game.
The captains for both teams meeting at center field before the game. I am so
proud of the Southside football team for the great game last night.
This was Alex after the first touchdown that Southside made. A very
excited number 89. You did a great job son.
This is Carl, Drew, and Alex with a guy that helped them
last year during the football season. They were celebrating the
victory. They played hard and came back from a 21-7 deficit to win
the game. Bentonville has a very good team but we beat them twice this year.
Austin did not get to play in this game, but he enjoyed the victory.

Heading to the playoffs
Well tonight the Rebels play Bryant in the state playoffs. I really hope they win. The game is in Bryant so it will be a long trip. I may try to sneak to the high school and get some video of them leaving for the game. The boys will die if they see me, but they have almost died of me taking pictures before. Here are a couple of pictures from the game last week.
Austin #9 Alex #89 I love these boys

This picture is at the pep rally before the Northside- Southside football game
last week. Southside won. I hope someday they will be glad to have pictures.

A review of last week

This is Alex and Julia at our house before they left for the
homecoming dance. They looked so nice.

Austin and Kristen looked really cute. They went to Avery's house before the
dance so we went over there to take pictures. Austin was not sure about
me following him over there to take pictures, but there were plenty of
moms there doing the same thing. The group went to Cheddars to eat before the dance.
Austin started for the first time this year in the varsity football game.
This was his first pass of the game and it was about a 30 yard completion
Bennett went to the homecoming pep rally with me. This was a first.
I had to get a picture of him and Alex
Alex walked Katie Allen during the pep rally. The senior football boys
do this during the pep rally and the dads do it before the football game.
It was a very crazy weekend. The game was Friday night and the dance
was on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun seeing the kids all dressed up.

Alex is Hootens scholar athlete of the week
Alex was picked as Hootens scholar athlete of the week. He
did not know he was being picked and they did it at lunch in the
cafeteria at Southside. This is him getting his award and Chad Hooten
is filming it. They talked to Coach Williams, Alex and Bennett. I know
Hooten's has a show on TV on Saturday mornings, but I am not sure
when his part will be on.
We are so proud of Alex. He is a great son and this year is going to fast.
Southside is on winning streak
Alex was one of the captains for Friday's game against Springdale.
He is number 89. Soutthside won the game on a last second field goal.
It was such a good game and now Southside is undefeated in
conference play.
At the start of the second half Austin came out as the quarterback.
Hunter was injured in the first half so Austin got to play all of
the second half. He and Alex were in at the same time on some plays.
I was very nervous for Austin but he did great. It was such a thrill to have
them playing at the same time.
I took this picture and did not realize till I started looking at my
pictures what this looks like. I think big brother is about to take this
guy out if he thinks he is going to hurt his little brother.

Southside beats Fayetteville JV
Southside wins big
Alex and Austin on the field at the same time.
Alex is 89 Austin is 9
I usually can not get a picture of them together because they never seem to
stand close to each other.
Southside won a big game on Friday night. They beat the number 1 team in the state.
I am so proud of those boys. Alex and Austin both played in the game. It is a lot of fun to have
two boys on the same team.
